A number of modern authors, gurus, and teachers consistently refer to a few select people from the past.

And these few consistently mention certain principles of success.

I’ve boiled them down to their essence here. So these are very best mental tools to help you accomplish you life and fitness goals.

They are simple, yet profoundly powerful, when you use them.

Oh yes, do not let the simplicity of these ideas fool you. When you use them you will get what you want.

The principles are as follows:

Realize that thought rules all.

The thoughts you think fill the universe. And you become and create that which you think about.

It follows, therefore, that you must think only of the best. If you want to lose 100 pounds or 5 pounds you must realize and be grateful for the position you are now in - If you are in a body that is currently not in the shape you want – or if you are happy with your current body.

Be grateful for it first, last, and always.

That’s right.

Say thank you to the divine, miraculous body you live in.

You created it.

The actions you performed, the foods you ate, the exercises you performed or did not perform created your body, as it is now.

If you are overfat, there is nothing wrong with your thyroid or your genetics as many suggest. Your body and metabolism are the product of you thoughts.

Therefore, after you get your thoughts right, and are grateful for what you have created, you can then set your vision on your new self.

Form a clear and definite vision of what you want your body and life to look like. Then, get to work with complete faith that you will create it.

Every moment of the day you must hold the successful vision of yourself in your conscious thoughts. Every action you take will either move you closer or further from your vision.

Every action you take is either an efficient or an inefficient action.

When you go out to dinner with you family and friends or when you are sitting in front of the boob tube. . .

Think and expect the best in yourself and from others. When you think the best, you become and create the best.

You are the best.

Not the best in the sense of competing with others. Be the best from the idea of creativity.

You are uniquely positioned to create, grow, and become YOUR best.

Look into the mirror and say, “I Love you”, “Thank you”, and “Wow!”.

Speaking of gratitude, realize that there is only abundance. I know you may have been brain washed in the past by a well intentioned parent or sibling who told you to clean up, and eat everything off of your plate.

Times have changed, however.

There is no food shortage. True, in some areas of the world people starve. But that is not a result of a food shortage. That is political problem. There is more than enough food for EVERYONE. What does exist for those people is a food distribution problem.

Now, will finishing everything on your plate help those people in any way whatsoever?

Is there some family in Uganda benefiting from the food you eat in any way because you didn't throw away any food?

I don’t think so.

Here’s the solution for you, from now on realize that for you and me - there is only abundance.

We have been blessed with unlimited resources.

When you are satisfied during your next meal, simply stop eating. Leave the food alone. Know that you can get more. As a matter of fact, you will get more the next time you are hungry. You’ll just get up and go get some healthy food, right?

And food doesn't taste as good when you force it down or heat it up the 2nd time anyway.
